New Ireland Assurance in partnership with the DCU Ryan Academy hosted a ‘funding Ireland’s future’ event with 18 – 35 year olds to tackle issues around the financial preparedness and engagement of younger consumers.
The event involved a team-based ‘hackathon’ over a weekend , where attendees self-identified and analysed issues which have the potential to help young consumers shape their financial future.
Their proposed solutions related to product innovation, messaging which resonates, platforms for engagement or other ideas which could alleviate issues in the future.
Teams competed for a €5,000 first prize, €2,000 second place and a €1,000 third place prize, and spot prizes will be won over the weekend.
The hackathon, aimed at the next generation of financial consumers, provides attendees with the opportunity to engage in a real-world challenge and put their ideas into action.
